Milk & Honey news update...

The big news is current Overall Champ and Course record holder Henry Jaine, will not be here to defend his title this year due to choosing to race in the Whaka 100 this time round. We wish him all the best there, and it means the door is open for someone else to take home the Trophy.

As a token gesture we will be giving the number 1 plate to the highest place rider from last years race who has returned to ride again. No Pressure!

A couple of new items for this year's race worth a mention here.

June 22nd - Kaiteriteri Mid-Winter Breakout
It is that time of year again; the helmets and or bikes are adorned with lights, the winter thermals have been dragged from the depths of the storage cupboard, every outing means a post ride clean down of mud n' grime. But hey it ain't all bad!
It also means that the 6 hr Mid-Winter Breakout is on the near horizon.
2014 has us returning to the popular Kaiteriteri Mountain bike Park tracks with the "village" again at Bethany Park campground. The course will be the same as last year as it worked so well and hopefully the weather will  be a little better.
There will as usual be a class to suit everyone √ teams -solo-mixed- tandem- unicycle- college and this year the "couples class" ( you have to be living together but to keep in line with new legislation we have no gender bias!) and the Parent Child - Dad n' Daughter, Mum n' Son class. Just about covers it all don't you think?
As in past years the focus will be on fun with spot prizes for best dressed, best crash, best hard luck story etc.  So get yourself sorted, gather a team, get yourself a partner, learn to ride a unicycle and book in the 22rd of June for 6hrs of FUN
Spread the word. See you there.
Sunday 26th October - Milk and Honey Race
Put this date on your calendar!  If you like to ride UP, then grab and downhill friend.  Or if you prefer to get down and dirty, then find a buddy who can climb.  OR just get hard and do it all yourself!  There is still plenty of time to train... but remember time flies.
